Swimming Training

Swimming Training

Everyday room 9 goes for swimming at 11.15 which is after morning tea.

First we will have to go and wait outside for Mr Ramkolowan then we will go to the pools and get changed.

Next we will go and have a shower and wait for Mr Ramkolowan to tell us to go into our groups and also we will have to wait for him to tell us when to get into the pool.

Then Mr Ramkolowan will tell us to warm up and then he will tell us to have a challenge at butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle  to the other side and come back.

After that Mr Ramkolowan will tell you to get out of the pools and go have a shower and go and get  change  because it is class time.

Last but not least we will come and put our togs on the concrete or the bench then we will have to go back to class.

Taking care of myself

Taking Care of myself

I take care of myself by taking care of my body. I also work hard to keep myself healthy.

Firstly you must exercise. How do I exercise? What I do to get fit is to run around and do some push ups  or you can do swimming.

Secondly you must eat the right food like bread, milk, meats and no junk food, no fried food, no fizzy, no cakes and no sweet stuff.

Next you must protect your body and the things you need is suncream, covering cut/sores, wash your hands and you will have to shower everyday and twice a day.

Race Relation Day

On Friday Glen Innes school  celebrated Race Relation Day.

First we had to get dressed and wait for Mr Ramkolowon to tell us  when to go inside the hall and when we got in the hall we had to sit down in a circle and the parents went and sat down up on the stage.

Then it was the kapa haka group that did their performance. After that it was room 1’s turn to do their performance. Then we had to wait for Mr Naidoo to call out some kids name to do their speech and they were: Margaret, Manuela, Robin, Chloe, Shanelle, Yazmin and Limi.

Then all the teachers had to tell us where they come from and after that Mr Naidoo called all the cultures out and we had to walk up on the stage and  say hi. The Tongans were the biggest group in the whole school.

How to make Sherbet

EXPLANATION

How to make sherbet.

In this writing I am going to tell you how to make sherbet.

To begin to make sherbet firstly,  we need the following ingredients.
  • Icing Sugar
  • Raro
  • Baking Soda
  • Citric Acid
  • Tartaric Acid

We start of by mixing the icing sugar and raro. Then we added  the baking soda and mix it well.  To this mixture we add two of the main ingredients which are the citric acid and tartaric acid.

Finally, to make the sherbet work we need to add water.  We get this water from our mouth.

The ingredients in sherbet react because we mix an acid with a carbonate. This form bubbles.

Making Fizz

Making fizz...

Today we made sherbet, a lolly that fizzes in your mouth.

First we mixed the icing sugar and and raro. Then we added baking soda. The last two ingredients were the citric acid and the tartaric acid. Finally we mixed all the ingredients together.

When our teacher allow us to taste the mixture,it began to fizz in our mouth. This was because we mixed acid and carbonates together.

This was the first experiment that we had in class this year i liked..
